Welcome to Scranton
The City of Scranton is Pennsylvania’s seventh largest city geographically nestled in the Lackawanna River valley. Historically inhabited by the native Lenape tribe, anthracite coal miners and the innovators of iron and steel, Scranton experienced a surge in both historic and modern revitalization in the mid- 1980’s. The city currently boasts a wide variety of architecture, natural parks, entertainment venues, museums, and ski resorts. Scranton, nicknamed ‘The Electric City,’ has been a featured landmark throughout pop culture, ranging from the 1855 George Inness painting, Lackwanna Valley to today’s NBC’s Emmy-award winning sitcom The Office.

“For me photography is seeing; what will I see today? Hopefully, I will find a secret, one not seen by others but one waiting to be told.”
Guy Cali, Master Photographer and President of Guy Cali Associates, Inc, has been photographing Scranton, PA for over 35 years. A graduate of Penn State University, Cali opened his own portrait studio in 1973 and quickly expanded to commercial and stock photography. His photography has won several awards and been featured by Professional Photographers of America, Industrial Photography, Professional Photographer, and Eastman Kodak. In 1984, Cali completed his Master of Photography degree and subsequently was honored by the Professional Photographers of America with the title of “Master Photographer.” Since then, not only has Guy Cali become a nationally recognized photographer, but he has also been an involved member of the Scranton community in both the revitalization and photographic recording of the area. The Lackawanna Coal Mine, Steamtown National Historic Site, The Scranton Cultural Center, Cooper’s Seafood House and the Red Barons are just a few of Scranton’s favorites that have developed simultaneously in time and on film.
Jim FilipskiContact
“My viewpoint on photography is that it is a form of visual perception. My way of seeing is always reduced to the essentials; lights, shadow, and form - to me a subject is there in its simplicity.”
Jim Filipski is Head Studio Photographer for Guy Cali Associates, Inc and has been an integral part of the business for over 25 years. Influenced by Edward Weston, Paul Strand, and Wynn Bullock, Filipski studied under noted Chicago photographic artist, Douglas Busch and has become a leading artist in the genre of Commercial Photography. He has lectured for the Professional Photographers Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, received special commendations from the School of Modern Photography for outstanding achievement in Abstract Visualization and has been presented in a solo exhibit.
Anthony CaggianoContact
“I definitely see things from a different perspective. Light, color and design can create beautiful images from nothing.”

Originally from the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, Anthony has received his Associate in Fine Art from Keystone College and Associate in Specialized Technology from the Antonelli Institute in Philadelphia where he earned several awards including Honorable Achievement in a Portfolio Presentation.
